9 Predictions For Chris Jericho's AEW Mystery Partners

3. Stu Bennett

If this feels a bit like 'the WWE midcard before that midcard was injected with Indie super-workers", then consider the following:

Jericho and Bennett are friends, and thus there is a storyline reason for Jericho to "bring him in" - and it is apparent at this point that AEW is actively looking to apply logic to its storylines. AEW has no, demented cause to sabotage a push when that push is getting over. Bennett was genuinely approaching "on fire" territory as Bad News Barrett, adding elusive crowd interaction to his excellent verbal game. Particularly in matches against Sheamus, during the twilight of his WWE run, the shredded, cut vintage of Barrett, the wrestler, cut a bruising and imposing figure who assembled a not inconsiderable amount of crunching, believable C-show matches.

Moreover, AEW's ties to the UK, and it's mooted ITV deal, prompted the signatures of Kip Sabian and Jimmy Havoc. AEW wants British talent, and, per a recent online report, is also on a "hoss hunt".
