4. Not Enough Main Eventers

Another thing that damaged this Rumble was the fact that most of the biggest names in the company weren’t even entered into the match. Some of them were given storyline reasons – which were rendered moot when #30 made his way to the ring – while others just flat out didn’t appear.

There was a lot of fluff in this year's version of the annual battle royal. Think how much potential this bout could have had if guys like AJ Styles, John Cena, Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins had all been a part of the festivities. No, those spots went to guys like Jack Gallagher, Apollo Crews and James Ellsworth.

Rather than putting the full amount of WWE’s star power on display, they padded the match with a bunch of filler and hoped we wouldn’t notice.
