9 Things That Must Happen At NXT TakeOver: Philadelphia

Chris Hero fans may be sad to hear it, but Kassius Ohno isn't moving up in the world any time soon. Ohno will act as a credible gatekeeper for people to beat as they pass him on the card. The conquerers will almost always be young and inexperienced guys who will benefit hugely from working across the ring from the hugely adroit man from Ohio.

Ohno will take on The Velveteen Dream at NXT TakeOver: Philadelphia in what may well be the most predictable match on the entire card. The result actually isn’t so important here, what matters is that Dream is on the show. Velveteen’s performance against Aleister Black at WarGames made this an absolute necessity.

So Velveteen Dream and Kassius Ohno will have a highly competitive match to open the show on Saturday night, but it will end with a Purple Rainmaker and a big win for the youngster. This is the furthest Ohno has been from the NXT Championship throughout his WWE career, and that may be for the best. The Knockout Artist has a hugely important role to play in getting the next generation ready for the rigours of sports entertainment superstardom.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
