9 Things We Learned From Bruce Prichard's In Your House 8: Beware Of Dog Podcast

7. Vince McMahon Calmly Drank Coffee During The Power Outage

Shortly after Marc Mero had defeated Hunter Hearst Helmsley in the pay-per-view opener, the Florence Civic Center was plunged into darkness. Power had failed due to a thunderstorm in the area, and the WWF were forced to think on their feet when backstage generators refused to kick in and restore lighting to the venue.

Rushing out from behind the curtain to seek a contingency plan from his boss, a rattled Bruce Prichard couldn't believe how Vince McMahon reacted to the issues threatening his broadcast.

As Steve Austin and Savio Vega continued working a 'Caribbean Strap Match' to the best of their abilities inside a darkened ring, a surprisingly calm McMahon removed his commentary headset and sipped coffee at ringside. Meanwhile, Prichard was asking all sorts of questions about what they should do next.

Without looking at his lieutenant, a bold Vince remarked that Austin and Vega were having "one hell of a match" and barely even acknowledged Bruce. When he eventually did, McMahon asked Prichard what he expected him to do about a power outage and said the show had to keep going on.

McMahon's concern centred around entertaining the audience physically in attendance, and he planned to worry about those watching at home later.
