9 Things We Learned From Jim Cornette On The Ross Report
1. Cornette Is A Dolph Ziggler Fan
Towards the end of the chat Ross asks Cornette about talent he'd like to work with in the modern age.
The subject starts with tag teams, and Cornette's first answer once again comes from Ring of Honor in the shape of the Briscoe Brothers. He puts the brothers over as being legitimate, but he isn't sure if he would be a good fit with their act.
Cornette then brings up the reason he tunes in to WWE more often than not, and that reason is the Show-Off himself, Dolph Ziggler. Cornette worked with Ziggler in OVW, and whilst it was clear he had talent Cornette didn't envisage him becoming the second coming of Curt Hennig, as he puts it.
James E. sees no flaw in his game, which is quite the compliment in professional wrestling.
Like many, Cornette isn't entirely sure why WWE doesn't give Ziggler the ball with which to run with, lamenting that 'they don't do jack with him'. Ziggler has been stuck in this position for a while, and there seems to be little chance of it changing in the future.
For someone who gets a lot of shade in pro wrestling, Jim Cornette actually comes across pretty well in his appearance on the Ross Report. He obviously has a keen mind for the business, and would still have a lot to offer in the right position. If nothing else, I've learnt about the weird food that Kentucky has to offer.
Burgoo? I had no idea.
