9 Things We Learned From WWE Chronicle: Charlotte Flair

5. She Regrets Quitting Volleyball

One of the major themes of the documentary focuses on Charlotte's reinvention in her mid-20s from someone who never had any interest in wrestling, to one of the sport's premier talents - male or female. Although she frequently muses that she's unrecognisable from the person she was even six years ago, she still holds a piece of her past buried deep within her.

Charlotte was a championship volleyball player throughout high school, captaining Providence High to two NCHSAA 4 A-State titles and continuing her sporting career in college. Then just like that, she dropped it all - and she still harbours some regrets over doing so.

"I lost who I was," Flair admits. "Why did I quit volleyball?" When she walks out before the MetLife Stadium for WrestleMania's main event this Sunday, we reckon Charlotte will realise she probably made the right choice.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
