9 Things We Learned From WWE Chronicle: Goldberg
2. He Isn't A Wrestling Expert
This isn't exactly news, but Goldberg isn't a mat scholar in the mould of Daniel Bryan or - as he found to his utmost embarrassment on a February 1998 episode of WCW Nitro - William Regal. But this isn't just the observed opinion of sideline analysts: Bill openly admits during this documentary that he has no real nous for the business.
Goldberg might be pushing the wrong side of 50 now, over twenty years since his debut, yet in actual terms he still only has less than ten solid years experience in the ring. Obviously, his game has always been about something more bombastic than technical wizardry, but he's still had to learn the fundamental glue to stick together what comes naturally.
There's a whole host of people he has to thank for keeping him right, then, and he openly collars one after his successful squash of Dolph Ziggler. Stomping backstage, Goldberg yells "Fit! Did it work?" as he seeks assurance that his 90 second sprint was any cop. This remarkable lack of confidence in even the most basic of matches is confirmed when Bill says that everything he is is down to guys like Finlay, who provide him with expert opinions - "because I sure as hell don't have 'em."
