9 Things We Learned Watching Southpaw Regional Wrestling

2. Push The Sea Creature

After spending three episodes building to the climactic battle between Big Bartholemew and Mr. Mackelroy, the booker of Southpaw delivers the ultimate swerve by having the banker, standing along the beach, reveal that it won't be he who faces his financial foe, but rather his creature from the sea. He calls him... The Sea Creature!

The banker holds a chain which harnesses the horrifying monster as it emerges from the depths of the abyss, a green and pink beaked demon hellbent on destruction, apparently under Mackelroy's complete command. We viewers sit stunned and scared out of our wits, convinced that our favorite farmer has no chance of victory against this titan of terror.

The debut of The Sea Creature is a tribute to classic vignettes of first appearances for characters such as Teijo Khan, 'The Purple Haze' Mark Lewin, and Leviathan, better known as Batista, who's even better known as Drax - all demons of the the deep that surfaced from the ocean and chose the career path of professional wrestler.

If there's one thing WWE needs, it's a monster heel. They had one with Braun Strowman but ruined that by making us love him for splattering Roman's remains all over the ramp last week, so now it's time to replace him with an even more frightening behemoth.

I say WWE feeds the winner of Goldberg/Lesnar to The Sea Creature, strap the rocket to him and see where it takes them. There's nowhere to go but up with this kind of once-in-a-lifetime talent.
