9 Things WWE Experimented With On House Shows But Never Went With
6. Kane The Undertaker
For all intents and purposes, The Undertaker made his WWF debut on 22 November 1990 at the company’s annual Survivor Series PPV. Brought to the ring by Brother Love, this newcomer made an instant impression and left the watching audience with their jaws agape.
Technically, this character actually first stepped foot into a WWF ring on 19 November – three days prior to the Survivor Series. During a squash match taped for a future episode of Superstars, The Deadman actually went by a name he’d use on a handful of live shows. That name, was Kane the Undertaker.
Despite being referenced as Kane on house shows and the aforementioned Superstars taping, the Kane element was completely dropped from The Undertaker’s name for his Survivor Series debut. Like so many other ideas experimented with on non-televised events, ‘Kane’ was tossed aside and forgotten about.
Well, until seven years later when that moniker would be given to a certain Glenn Jacobs - which didn't work out all that badly for the former Unabomb, Isaac Yankem DDS, and fake Diesel.
