9 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Big Boss Man

5. Canicide Of Pepper

Canicide is the murder of dogs and in September 1999, Big Boss Man took his rivalry with Al Snow to an entirely new level, killing his pet chihuahua. Yes, a professional wrestling angle was written around the idea of a heel killing a beloved pet dog. Vince Russo. Attitude Era. Make sense? Even worse is not the death of the dog but what Boss Man did with its remains. He could have easily buried it in some grand, pre-taped vignette or even tormented Snow with Polaroids of its corpse, but no. Instead, the sick and twisted bastard chopped him up and fed him to his rival, revealing the home cooked meal he had served Snow to be a "pepper steak." Get it? "Pepper" steak. *Shakes head* The angle only added to Boss Man's heat. At a time when villains were concerned with being cool, edgy and hip, he was a straightforward a**hole. He was the baddest of the bad, an old-school wrestling heel concerned only with making fans hate them. While the program worked for that time, today's more politically correct environment would never allow for such a controversial bit of television. Thus, it is unlikely that WWE would be all that quick to remind you of the character's exploits that night in the hotel. Which begs to question why Snow even agreed to join Boss Man in a private hotel room for dinner anyway. Kinda creepy.
