9 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Big Boss Man

3. The Kennel From Hell

The culmination of the epic (?) rivalry between Big Boss Man and Al Snow over the killing and forced feeding of chihuahua Pepper came at the Unforgiven pay-per-view in the horrendously bad, notoriously awful Kennel from Hell match. How bad is the match? It is so bad that the match type has never been resurrected. The idea of a traditional steel cage surrounding by a Hell in a Cell, guard dogs surrounding ringside, more distracted with pissing on the mats than attacking the Superstars, not appealing for anyone on any Creative team in its wake. That the two simply did not have chemistry when not blasting each other with weapons did not help the fate of the match. Despite both being grizzled veterans, longtime workers who had been through many a war in numerous promotions, they could not deliver a quality match in that stipulation-heavy match to save their souls. Boss Man comically ran from the mutts at ringside, having to stall for them to catch up and appear even remotely vicious. And he lost, so not only was it a historically awful match, perhaps the most embarrassing and awkward bout of an entire generation, but he did not even pick up the win. A complete and utter disaster better left to the dregs of WWE Network.
