One of the moments that will give pause to anyone looking over Hunt's legal case against Lesnar, White and the UFC is how Hunt vocally stated he didn't care if an opponent was doping... at least until he lost.

It's important to note that such an admission doesn't negate the promotion's duty to ensure a level playing field. Still, it makes you question Hunt's motivation. When Antonio Silva and Frank Mir failed drug tests after fighting Hunt, he didn't launch legal action. It wasn't until he lost, to Lesnar, that he did. Maybe the third time was the charm - or maybe it's that he didn't pick up his win bonus.

At the open workouts for UFC 200, Hunt was blunt:

I don’t care. Everyone should be on a level playing field, to be honest, but it is what it is.

Well, it was what it was until it wasn't. That was not Hunt's first statement showing a lack of concern about juicing opponents, but it's likely that the reality of a one-sided loss changed his mind.

It does, however, speak to Hunt's motivation. Longtime MMA journalist Kevin Iole at Yahoo suggested that Hunt's motivations in this lawsuit were anything but clear. In fact, he may simply be angling for a settlement with Lesnar, who is a notoriously private person and may wish to avoid having to show up in court.
