AEW All In London 2026: Backstage Notes On Several Major Matches (AEW News)
Details on how some of AEW All In's biggest matches came together.
As the AEW All In 2026 card continues to come together, there are now some new details on some of the event's bigger matches.
Per Fightful Select, it's been the plan since roughly February for Kenny Omega to face Will Ospreay at All In. And as for the rumours of MJF being added to that match to make it a triple threat, they were completely false.
On the MJF topic, he'd been planned to be a part of All In's Casino Gauntlet even before he lost the AEW World Title. Likewise, Andrade El Idolo had also long been planned for the Casino Gauntlet, with that match expected to focus heavily on Andrade and Max.
Kevin Knight vs. Darby Allin for the TNT Title is another bout that had long been in the works for All In, as had the AEW Women's Championship match between Willow Nightingale vs. Mercedes Moné. However, there were some in the company pushing for Thekla to be involved in the AEW Women's Title contest once she took the ball and ran with it during her reign atop the women's division. Still, Willow vs. Mercedes had been the plan dating as far back as when Toni Storm went on hiatus.
While some fans have speculated over FTR, the newly arrived Motor Machine Guns, or the expected-to-arrive-imminently New Day being put into the picture for the AEW Tag Team Titles, Fightful notes that doesn't appear to be the plan. Instead, as of last week, the plan is to have Adam Copeland and Christian Cage defend those titles against the Young Bucks. Where the AEW Women's Tag Team Championships are concerned, the Brawling Birds challenging Divine Dominion at All In has been the plan for most of the year.
