9 Times The Undertaker Helped Make WWE Superstars (And The One That Got Away)
5. Jeff Hardy
With the exception of Mr Kennedy, every other member of this list had been introduced to the main event scene way before 'Taker came knocking. However, such was the pull of the Deadman in 2002 that he sent the star of Jeff Hardy into the stratosphere by beating him in a ladder match for the Undisputed title on Raw.
The younger Hardy brother was attempting to break out of the tag division for the first time as fans were naturally attracted to his specific style of in-ring lunacy. He landed a surprise world title shot against Limp Bizkit version of The Undertaker, in a ladder match on free TV, no less.
Jeff put on such a great fight in his signature match that he became an instantly sympathetic favourite, as he took a beating from the much larger man, and gave it straight back. Jim Ross' legendary call of "Climb the ladder, kid! Make yourself famous!", and a raise of the arm from 'Taker after the bell gave Hardy a moment he could count on for the rest of his career.
