9 Unhinged R-Truth Skits That Had You Doubting His Sanity

Think R-Truth used to be a little crazier than he is today? Well, 'used ta' is a roostah from Brewstah.

Ron 'R-Truth' Killings was the first black NWA World Heavyweight Champion, a title he held twice in 2002 and 2004. He's a nineteen year veteran of the squared circle, a supremely athletic wrestler with a fantastic, unique look. A rapper since the age of sixteen, Killings has mic skills out the wazoo, and the potential to run the upper midcard of any wrestling promotion in history. And Ron Killings does crazy better than almost any wrestler alive. Over the last eight years since re-signing with WWE, R-Truth has displayed a hitherto undreamed of talent for comedy... but not WWE's usual broad, childish sense of humour, typified by gay jokes and constant references to heels having bad breath. R-Truth's insane skits and turbo-charged ranting on the mic are character-based comedy, delivered with near perfect timing. He took the irritating WHAT chants and based the rhythm of his promos around them, transforming them from off-putting spoilers into a vital part of his act. He's responsible for more straight-faced performers corpsing in the ring than practically any other wrestler in history. Whether playing the conspiracy-theorising heel, the wacky comic foil to main eventers or one half of a tag team featuring an imaginary little boy, R-Truth has the Midas touch: the ability to turn even the longest, lamest promo segment into instantly watchable gold. Here's a selection of my favourite R-Truth skits... nine of the funniest, weirdest and most insane moments in WWE history.
