9 Ups & 1 Down For AEW Collision (Dec 16 - Results & Review)

7. La Mera Mera Is Back

AEW Collision Abadon Thunder Rosa
AEW

Finally, after 16 months, fans got to see Thunder Rosa get physical one again, coming to the rescue as Abadon found themselves on the receiving end of a beatdown from Julia Hart and Skye Blue.

With Hart and Blue now officially working in tandem, La Mera Mera wasn't prepared to sit by and watch Abadon take a post-match whooping shortly after the Living Dead Girl had made quick work of Jazmin Allure with the Black Dahlia.

Thunder hasn't wrestled since an August 2022 episode of AEW Dark: Elevation, teaming with Hikaru Shida and Toni Storm in six-person action. Of course, prior to All Out '22, Rosa was forced to vacate the AEW Women's Championship due to severe back issues; severe back issues that have since been documented in AEW All Access.

There'd been reports in recent months that Thunder Rosa was medically cleared to compete, but that it was a case of finding suitable creative for her. Now, Rosa's returned has been confirmed, with her and Abadon announced to take on Julia Hart and Skye Blue on next week's Collision.

The Abadon vs. Allure bout here was fine for what it needed to be, a dominant squash victory to keep momentum behind Abadon ahead of their impending match against Julia for the TBS Title. However, the biggest story was clearly that Thunder Rosa is back, which is absolutely fantastic to see.
