9 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite (31 Aug)

5. Wheeler Yuta Qualifies For Casino

Rey Fenix Dante Martin
AEW

Wheeler YUTA triumphed in a preview for All Out's Casino Ladder Match, besting Dante Martin, Rey Fenix, and Rush in a match that absolutely flew by.

The bout was pretty much what you'd expect from its participants. All popcorn and fireworks, it prioritised fast-flowing excitement above all else, even if Rush and Yuta aren't traditional flyers. Nonetheless, both got involved in the general theme. Rush dived onto a pile of humanity where often he would fake out, while Yuta, a prodigious athlete himself, was a game flyer and counter wrestler simultaneously. His win came via Seatbelt on Dante.

Martin and Fenix provided most of the highlights in a bout fought entirely in sixth gear, working at least a couple of frankly inhuman counter sequences. Particularly impressive was Martin somehow countering a Gory Special into what looked like a Code Red. One day, when the rest of the pieces come together, Dante is going to marry intangibles to his outrageous in-ring capabilities and make himself a megastar.
