9 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite (8 Sep)

6. Ruby Passes The First Test

Ruby Soho Jamie Hayter
AEW

Ruby Soho vs. Jamie Hayter had a couple of wonky moments where certain exchanges perhaps didn't go the way the wrestlers would have wanted. Regardless, they coped with them well and if there were errors, they didn't disrupt the match's flow at all. When Hayter lost her balance with Ruby on her shoulders, Soho improvised by whipping Jamie down to the mat with her, preserving the bout's integrity. That's why having experienced hands like the former Heidi Lovelace on deck is so vital.

Cincinnati was firmly behind Soho here, chanting her name through Hayter's control sequences and during her entrance. Snapped across the bottom rope early on, she was a good sympathetic foil for Britt Baker's muscle, who was chopped down via head kick for the finish.

Riho and Kris Statlander made the save when Baker and Rebel swarmed after the bell, setting up a trios match for Rampage. This came following Ruby's backstage confrontation with Baker earlier in the evening. "Why don't you go runaway to catering where you spent the last four years of your life?" was the sickest burn there, giving Soho legitimate beef with Britt beyond their upcoming title fight.
