9 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite (8 Sep)

3. Kenny's Gonna Get His F*cking Head Kicked In

Kenny Omega Bryan Danielson
AEW

Bryan Danielson effectively emerged as Kenny Omega's next big World Title contender on Dynamite, having claimed that Omega was afraid to face him because he knew he was going to get his head kicked in, then dragging the AEW Champion to the mat with a crossface to kickstart a huge, crowd-popping brawl.

When The Elite swarmed, a babyface crew of Christian Cage, Jurassic Express, and Frankie Kazarian made the save, with Jungle Boy's flip dive to the outside the highlight. A bunch of interesting dynamics have now been woven. Omega vs. Danielson is the most obvious, but Kazarian is now back in the mix with his Elite Hunter gimmick and Adam Cole vs. Jungle Boy is another possibility, with the former NXT Champion naming the up-and-comer as someone he'd like to face in his post-All Out media appearances.

Beyond the brawl, Cole's promo was the highlight here. AEW wisely turned his crowd reactions around by having him threaten the most beloved man in the company, Tony Schiavone, with Cole getting protective and defensive over Tony's relationship with Britt Baker. Adam ran that "nerd" out of the ring, flipping an audience that was screaming his name one minute prior.

There are a lot of moving pieces in this scene at the moment. Their individual directions won't become clear for a few more weeks, but this introductory segment hit all the right notes.
