3. Predictable But Stellar

When looking at the AEW women's division, two of the most impressive ladies of 2023 have been Willow Nightingale and Julia Hart. For Willow, she's thrived with the spotlight she's been afforded, and Julia has improved so much in such a short space of time and at such a young age.

It was possibly a little predictable that Julia would get the win here - much like it seems a no-brainer that Skye Blue will beat Red Velvet on Wednesday to earn a spot against Hart and Kris Statlander at Full Gear - but the action itself was solid.

Granted, the 'old man who shouts at clouds' that your writer is, there was some mild grumbling when both competitors were outside of the ring for nearly a full minute; obviously complete with referee Aubrey Edwards not even counting to one, let alone reaching a ten-count. Alas, that was just one mild negative of what was otherwise a stellar bout.

The story here was Julia grinding down Willow and trying to take away her larger opponent's power, and Willow Nightingale simply doing Willow Nightingale things; as in, brilliantly firing up and showcasing spirited moments of that strength and power.

Hart got the pinfall after landing her moonsault in a match which was refreshingly afforded 12 minutes.
