9 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (June 15)

5. Miro Shows His Immense Babyface Potential

Miro Vs. Ethan Page was more solid than great, even actively good, but it was a more than passable attraction that functioned to do something more important than deliver a great match. This was the first glimpse of Miro as a babyface, and if the St. Louis crowd is any indication, he is destined to become a major success in the role.

The crowd is a reliable indicator, too; Miro is one of few talents in all of wrestling to unify the fandom with his awesomeness.

The match itself was probably a touch too long, but not to the detriment of anything significant. Miro's strikes looked horrendous to take, he stalked a meddling Dan Lambert with a wicked sense of menace, and the crowd popped big when Miro finally made him eat sh*t. The odd dangerous head drop spiked the atmosphere, and Miro, an exceptional performer, registered the "Game over!" audience interaction bit to perfection. The fans as intended received him - eventually - as a massive babyface here.

Miro advances to Forbidden Door, and the prospect of a super indie-style work rate masterpiece happening at the same time as a macho strong style fight is electrifying.
