Last night's AEW Dynamite played host to an entire first round of tournament action, as Kenny Omega, Hangman Page, Rey Fenix, Penta El Zero M, and more stepped through the ropes, engaging in driven, spirited combat for the right the advance to Full Gear, then challenge for the AEW World Championship. These are some of the best wrestlers in the world and their clashes were as varied as they were riveting. One, in particular, will go down amongst the most effective story-driven battles AEW has ever delivered.

And yet they were overshadowed, attention-wise, by a steak dinner.

Chris Jericho and MJF's Le Dinner Debonair always felt like it was going to be outlandish, but perhaps not to the point that it would dominate the post-show discussion. Still, let's not neglect the night's other development. Dynamite brought huge implications for Full Gear, with three new matches added - in including one many fans have been looking forward to for years.

This was a strong, strong episode. Dynamite typically kicks into a higher gear as AEW closes in on a pay-per-view, and with Full Gear just over two weeks away, the key storylines are set to peak at just the right time.

Let's light the fuse...
