9 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Oct 21)

7. Cabana Falls To Page

Hangman Page
AEW

Hangman Page still feels like he's stuck in a weird, mopy haze at the moment - and he'll need to get out of that if he ends up facing Kenny Omega at Full Gear - but a good match against Colt Cabana ended in his victory.

Evil Uno coached Cabana from the sidelines, as The Dark Order continues to attempt to distil aggression into the former comedy wrestler. Perhaps as a result of this and his earlier pep talk from John Silver and Alex Reynolds, Cabana fought hard, bringing the heat after getting slapped around when Page found an answer for his slippery counters. The nastiest spot saw Hangman take a ghastly back bump on the edge of the apron before Colt hit a splash to the floor and while he eventually fell to a Buckshot Lariat (after a fake-out), Cabana pushed the former Tag Team Champion close.

The Dark Order swarmed afterwards, helping Colt to the back. Page, a smart babyface, didn't turn his back on them.

Other tournament bouts were more explosive, but this was a good way to continue the Colt/Dark Order storyline without being too overbearing, which has been a regular problem on Dark. Page needed the win, too.
