9 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite: Winter Is Coming (Dec 2)

1. Shida Gets Spooked

So far, Hikaru Shida vs. Abadon is a wack WWE-style feud that presents the AEW Women's World Champion in a weak light at a time when she desperately needs to shine and assert her identity on a wobbly division.

This continued last night, as Shida was interviewed by Alex Marvez. She claimed she was unphased by Abadon, calling 'The Living Dead Girl' a zombie cosplayer, before getting spooked by a clang in the background, asking to reshoot the interview, and running away.

There's no difference between this and last year's stinking Seth Rollins vs. 'The Fiend' feud over in Vinceland. Shida, the champion, looks week when over-selling a good too silly for its own good, and AEW must find new ways to incorporate Abadon's character into its wrestling universe without compromising others. Reducing a 'Full Mention Champion' to a cowering wimp isn't the move.
