9 Ups & 3 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Aug 11)

2. A Flat Ending

Coming into this week’s Impact, Havok & Nevaeh vs. Tasha Steelz & Kiera Hogan was one of the more anticipated bouts announced for the evening. Their rivalry had been brewing more or less since Tasha and Nevaeh arrived on the scene a few months ago, so there was a lot to look forward to.

Unfortunately, the match just didn’t live up to its hype.

Granted, there were a handful of entertaining spots in the no disqualifications encounter, such as ‘The Hottest Flame’ kicking Havok off the apron and through a table at ringside. For the most part though, it wasn’t as hard-hitting as you’d expect for a match with no rules. Havok, like in their previous match, no-sold a steel chair to the back, which helps no-one in the long run, while the match-ending fisherman’s neckbreaker was a severely flat ending given the stipulation.

Not the worst match of all time by any stretch of the imagination, but certainly not of the calibre you’d be expecting from today’s Impact. By the looks of things, this could very well be the end of this rivalry. There’s no reason for it to continue. End it now before it becomes increasingly tedious.
