9 Ups & 3 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Nov 3)
1. The Nightmare Has Only Just Begun
Su Yung and Deonna Purrazzo's unannounced Bound For Glory clash was a great match. It wasn't the best on the night, of course, but still a fun bout regardless. Their follow up on last night's Impact? Not so much.
It started off fine, with both champion and challenger attempting their respective signature moves from the offset - in fact, it looked very much like 'The Undead Bride' was on the brink of a quick victory via Panic Switch, had Purrazzo not slithered off her shoulders at the last second. As things progressed, they quickly took a turn.
Kimber Lee slid a chair into the ring, which was then 'used' by Yung to give Deonna a disqualification victory. You'll notice the word 'used' is in inverted commas there - that's because the defending champion merely shoved the chair into Deonna's abdomen during a tug of war. It's hardly making full use of the weapon (she did after the bell, which isn't the point), and furthermore, Yung was in control of the match when the chair came into play. There was no benefit to her using the weapon.
Their third contest at Turning Point next Saturday has to be better than this. The added no disqualifications stipulation can only help the match succeed rather than suffer.
