9 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE Raw (Sept 26)

Rey Mysterio Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins versus Rey Mysterio circa 2020 never happened, OK? IT. NEVER. HAPPENED.

Sorry, bad memories there.

Rollins and Mysterio hooked it up Monday night for the first time in two years and put together a great little match between two guys who are on different paths right now. Seth was more than happy to give Rey the beating that he should be giving his own son Dominik, while Rey was going to take out his aggression on Rollins.

Dominik made his presence felt – and generated a loud “Dominik’s useless” chant in the process – by sitting ringside and ultimately providing a distraction that allowed Rhea Ripley to post Mysterio. Rollins quickly hit a stomp, and then to send a message to Matt Riddle, he used a Peruvian Necktie for the submission win.

Sometimes having a match between two guys involved in other programs can feel really forced, but this worked just fine and actually furthered both storylines. And the match itself was really good.
