9 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dark (Sep 2)

2. Gunn Club vs. Ryan Rembrandt & Donnie Primetime

Gunn Club
AEW

Action-wise, this was a typical Gunn Club showcase that concluded with Austin hitting his Quickdraw finisher for his and Billy's latest victory, putting them in contention for a spot in today's tag team rankings.

Donnie Primetime was a detrimental presence here. His act is literally Dollar Store Joey Janela, having worked a 'Bad Boy' parody act on the independents (as either Kung Fu Janela or Donnie Janela) until the duo discovered they were legitimate cousins. The problem with this is that AEW's announcers framed him solely as a cosplay act last night, making primetime look low-rent and shoddy, which reflects poorly on the show itself - even on YouTube.

Perhaps he has more up his sleeve than his one-note act suggests, though Primetime would be wise switching things up in a promotion in which Joey Janela is a full-time performer.
