9 Ups & 4 Downs From Impact Wrestling (5 Jan)

9. Palmer Goes The Distance
Matthew Palmer, a recent security guard in Impact Wrestling, did f*ck all against Moose last night, and yet, the pro wrestler of over a decade technically defeated the TNA World Heavyweight Champion.
You see, Palmer (the 'security guard' who accidentally ripped Moose's coat a few weeks back) only had to last three minutes in the ring with 'Mr. Impact Wrestling' to claim a win. Despite having his ass handed back to him by Moose, little Matthew drove the ten hours back home with a credited victory in a major wrestling organisation, thanks in part to a ringside distraction from Willie Mack towards the end of the bout.
It was a fun watch for what it was. Moose tossed Palmer around the ring like it was nothing. A subtle detail here is that Moose wore trousers to the ring rather than changing into his ring gear because he didn't feel the need to prepare for a maximum of three minutes vs. Matthew Palmer. It wasn't anything special by any stretch of the imagination, but it served its purpose. Here's hoping Palmer is welcomed back into an Impact ring soon - there's the potential for a fiery underdog babyface there.
