9 Ups & 4 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Feb 25)
3. The Team No-One Asked For
Finally, Johnny Swinger has realised Willie Mack isn't interested in teaming with him, and thus The Mack'n'Pack Connection is officially never going to exist. Unfortunately, 'The Swing Man' was unable to understand this himself. It took Glenn Gilbertti's intervention to show Swinger the true Mack.
As a result, it looks as if Swinger and Gilbertti will be a tandem in Impact Wrestling going forward. Maybe one of the worst things to happen in professional wrestling history as a whole, let alone Impact Wrestling history. It's not even one of those cases where it could turn out to be good - there's no way this team can be decent in any way whatsoever.
Johnny Swinger doesn't add anything to whatever it is he's attached to - if anything, he detracts from it - and we all remember what Glenn Gilbertti was capable of doing when he was around last time. Winning knockouts Battle Royals. Le sigh. The New York Connection can't be a long-running feature in Impact if the company wants to maintain/slash the great level they're currently sitting at.
