9 Ups & 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (Nov 6)

3. Nese Day To... START AGAIN

Everybody will speak of two key moments in this match because they were both brilliant, but neither should undermine the stone cold banger Tony Nese and Angel Garza assembled all just for the opportunity to take on Cruiserweight Champion Lio Rush.

Spot one was contemporary wrestling comedy in action as Tony Nese delivered a sitout powerbomb to Garza's pants before he realised he'd escaped them. Absolutely p*ss funny, this was also tactically astute - Garza regained the advantage as a result of the ruse.

Spot two was pure pro wrestling drama exploited to its most magical end. "A thing of beauty from a beautiful man" was Nigel McGuinness' accurate call of the action after Garza had taken charge, but he looked down and out after absorbing Nese's beautiful 450 splash. The foot-on-the-ropes is older than five Triple Hs, but unlike 'The Game's WrestleMania match style, it's one of the finest ways to gain instant gratification when done right.

But then, everything was done right here. From Nese's cocky entrance right through to the exchange of moonsaults and flips just before the Wing Clipper win for Garza, this was yet more Cruiserweight Classic quality wrestling that 205 Live should have been all along.
