9 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Aug 12)

3. Everybody, Uh... Dies?!

Lance archer Jake Roberts
AEW

Lance Archer increasingly feels like a cartoon character in his AEW segments, not the terrifying monster he used to be. This continued last week as Jake 'The Snake' Roberts cut a promo on his behalf while 'The Murderhawk Monster' wrecked a dude who'd brushed into him. Finally, Lance tore his manager's shirt off, revealing "Everybody Dies!" painted across his skin.

Everything about this was weird. The set-up was stunted, with the victim conveniently getting in Lance's way, and Jake felt subservient. This is one of the evilest men in professional wrestling history: why was he made a walking, shirtless billboard?

Let's get back to the days of Archer wrecking dudes in the ring and causing genuine, meaningful harm, not this corniness.
