9 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Mar 25)

7. Finally, Lance

Jake Roberts
AEW

Another week, another threatening Jake 'The Snake' Roberts diatribe aimed at Cody.

This one saw the big screen flicker into life as Cody was celebrating his victory over Jimmy Havoc, with the legend once again demanding AEW's Caesar give him and Lance Archer a chance. Cody's response? Angry. He called Jake bitter, jaded, and the worst thing about where wrestling is headed, adding that as impressive as Archer was, he had no body of work here. He doesn't start with Cody, but he can debut on next week's episode of Dynamite.

An effective bridge to Lance's first AEW match and an enjoyable segment to boot, this ticked both boxes. Archer is going to have to work for that Cody match. This makes sense, as 'The American Nightmare' is one of the biggest scalps in the promotion, and it'll be fun seeing Lance running through lesser fighters until then.

One imagines it's only a matter of time before Roberts and Archer take matters into their own hands, though.
