With so few warm bodies available backstage, filling a bit of time by showing Brock Lesnar and Cain Velasquez's match in full was theoretically sensible. Theoretically.

The problem was that it didn't present anybody in a particularly positive light, nor make any sort of prudent business sense. Not only did it highlight how terrible the match was, but it totally devalued one of Crown Jewel's key selling point, should, for whatever reason, somebody wish to purchase the Network in order to watch it.

What's more, it only lasted about two minutes, so it hardly ate up any television time at all. A strange, hitherto unseen tactic.
