1. Hartwell Wounds Lumis In The Spa, But Learns The Truth

Your writer was, like so many, hoping that the epic NXT Women's Tag Team Street Fight main event a couple of weeks back would see the division head in a new direction, away from the cringe-worthy tale of two star-crossed lovers we'd been exposed to in recent times.

And for exactly one week, we got that.

Then, Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell opted to celebrate their title win against Shotzi Blackheart and Ember Moon with a well-earned spa day and the wheels once again began to come loose. Instead of decisively setting the pair up for their next title challenge, this segment was centred around hurting Dexter Lumis' feelings as he creepily snuck into the pair's massage session.

Wounded by Hartwell and LeRae labelling him a "freak" and a "loser", Lumis would soon retreat with his tail between his legs as The Way's leading ladies joyously no-look high fived.

Later in the night, though, the truth behind who was actually sending flowers and chocolates to Moon and Blackheart a few weeks ago (remember, the incident which forced Hartwell to forget about all this mind-numbing crap?) was revealed. It was LeRae! I know, who saw that coming, right?

Clearly not Hartwell, who pieced together the information following her teammate's card being declined, due to the unpaid expenses coming back to haunt LeRae, and rejoiced over the realisation that Lumis still loves her! Ah well, it was nice having a division we could take seriously while it lasted, wasn't it?

Thankfully, the rest of the women in the running seemed to be focused on the real prize here (not Lumis' love) as highlighted in the two sets of former champs throwing their names into the hat for The Way's first title defence.

If only they dedicated more of the show to having the champs interact with their potential challengers instead of having them take part in the latest episode of this wretched soap opera nobody asked for.
