9 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Feb 8)

6. Hijacking A Talk Show

After criticizing the writers for being far too predictable, you€™ve got to give them credit for having Chris Jericho hijack the Miz€™s Miz TV talk show and immediately turn it into the Highlight Reel. It was something different for a change, with the €œroadies€ putting down new carpet and lowering the obscenely expensive Jeritron 6500. (And don€™t forget the potted plant Dean Ambrose gave Jericho.) Miz and Jericho are gifted men when it comes to mic time, so letting them spar verbally was good for some entertaining moments. And having them build up AJ Styles as being someone who Y2J admitted was really good was a nice way for established talent to put a newcomer over. The entire segment was devoted to making AJ out to be a big deal. And you have to give a quick kudos to Jericho for a slight nod to his former heel character, when he called himself €œthe best in the world at what I do.€ It could just be a coincidence, or it could be foreshadowing a heel turn against Styles in their rematch on Smackdown.
