Downs...

7. Crews Cannon Fodder Again

Let’s temper this “down” right away by noting that Apollo Crews got a much better showing Monday night than he has during the entire past year. He got to show some personality and had a brief, but competitive match against Bobby Lashley.

But Crews once again was looking up at the lights, being knocked off by the new Intercontinental Champion. It’s tough to rate this overall as a positive when Apollo keeps losing in his attempts to step up and get noticed. The extra TV exposure and character development is great, but he’s just spinning his wheels with a bigger spotlight.

There’s always the chance that he’ll slowly catch on and string together a few wins, but sooner or later, he’s going to have to actually make some progress beyond longer matches where he gets more offense in.
