9. MLK Video Hits Powerful Notes

Every third Monday in January, you can count on Raw opening with a video montage of some sort about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Maybe it’s because this writer visited the National Center for Civil and Human Rights museum last fall, but this year’s video was particularly moving, hitting the usual notes about Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech and his last public address, where he talked about reaching the mountaintop.

The video climaxed with Robert F. Kennedy breaking the news of King’s assassination, which still today is one of the true American tragedies. WWE’s video department often nails these types of packages, and Monday’s was no exception.
