Better late than never, I suppose.

At the time of writing, we’re just hours away from the 2016 WWE Draft.

But true to form, I guess it just wouldn’t be the WWE if we didn’t have some 11th hour news to report. And even at this late stage, that’s exactly what we were given on this week’s showing of Monday Night Raw.

Still, given Vince’s track record for changing his mind in the most drastic of ways at the very latest of opportunities, it’s fair to say that things were fairly well-organised on Raw this week. Everything apart from a certain new Raw GM fumbling over his lines, of course.

Some of the developments we saw were very much expected, having been announced in advance and planned well ahead of schedule, while others were very much less so.

So in the interest of making sure you didn’t miss out on anything, let’s look back at some of the Draft-related takeaways from this week's Raw. From the major talking points to the most trivial of details, this article delves into some of the last-minute notes made on Monday Night Raw that pertain the imminent Draft.

9. Cruiserweight Division On Raw

One of the very first things Steph announced on the show was that the we would soon be seeing the return of a Cruiserweight division exclusively on Monday Night Raw.

Based on the success of the Cruiserweight Classic on the WWE Network, the company are clearly looking to transport some of that magic to their flagship main roster show. Of course, it won’t be quite as easy as that, as it’s the presentation of the CWC that makes up a large portion of its appeal. And that presentation is entirely at odds with what we see on Monday Night Raw each week.

But hdy, those are the kind of issues we can address further down the line. For the time being let’s just be glad that one of the most exciting forms of professional wrestling will once again be displayed on centre stage in the coming weeks or months.

And in terms of the Draft, it means the likes of Kalisto, Neville, and—well, looking at the current roster that’s just about it for now—are almost certainly going to be drafted to Raw.
