Still, anything Steph can do, Shane can do better apparently. He outdid Steph in just about the only way that he could with the announcement of the returning Daniel Bryan as the new GM of SmackDown.

This wasn’t a particularly well-kept secret, with just about everyone in the arena already aware of what was coming. But that didn’t make the moment any less special. Furthermore, Bryan cut a pretty cool promo explaining his reasons for returning to SmackDown and tying up any lose ends to the story.

Much like the case with Foley, I can’t imagine Bryan’s selection as GM is going to affect the Draft too drastically. If anything, Bryan’s impact will be even less than that of Foley's, as he and Shane are more likely to be in agreement on who they’d like to draft to SmackDown.

It also opens up the possibility of a number of intriguing reunions down the line; with guys like Bray Wyatt, Randy Orton, and many other names that Bryan crossed paths with on his fondly-remembered career—not least of all being a certain tag team partner from the glory days of Team Hell No…
