9 Wrestlers AEW Will Sign In 2024

2. The Workhorsemen

Already under a deal of sorts, or at least on tap for whenever he needs the best new tag team on the scene to do a quick job (!), it is nonetheless possible that Tony Khan ties the Workhorsemen down full time in 2024.

They are a fantastic, fantastic tag team. Anthony Henry is a machine who works a familiar style, but still manages to stand out with just how ferocious and crisp he is. JD Drake meanwhile is an unreal specimen, a refrigerator with insane speed and cardio who knows when to bust out his jaw-dropping high spots to maximum dramatic effect.

Their role in AEW is bizarre. They exist to do infrequent jobs. The audience is not encouraged to take them particularly seriously. Usually, Khan is very astute at determining which fashionable acts the audience will like, but he has vastly underestimated just how good Henry and Drake are.

This will change because Khan might be on the cusp of grasping that his base, hardly enthused about the product or turning out in impressive numbers, aren't getting what they want out of AEW.

Signing the Workhorsemen full time will represent a return to the original vision - i.e. pushing an emerging act that did not make their name within WWE.
