The mistake that Randy Savage made in continuous Royal Rumble matches, is that he seemed to simply have not bothered to take the time to learn the rules of the Rumble bout.

In the match where you get eliminated after you go over the top rope, the 1992 Royal Rumble bout saw 'Macho Man' Randy Savage voluntarily jump over the top rope. Being the frenetic, erratic, emotional ball of passion and rage that he so often was, Savage got carried away with himself after eliminating bitter rival Jake Roberts.

Having knocked Roberts over the top rope, the Macho Man propelled himself over that very same rope, seemingly eliminating himself in the process. The legendary commentary pairing of Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan would cover for this, explaining how an elimination could only take place if you were thrown over the top by an opponent - although Savage would eventually be properly eliminated, courtesy of Sid Justice.

The following year was just as nuts from Randy, with the 1993 Royal Rumble match coming down to Savage and Mr. Fuji's Yokozuna. With the monstrous Yoko felled, the Macho Man took to the top and hit his patented Elbow Drop.

Unfortunately for the three-time WWE Champion, he then went for a pinfall on Yokozuna - only for Yoko to power out of the pin with such force that it launched Savage over the top rope.
