9 Wrestling Moments Involving Future Stars When They Were Young
5. Rob Van Dam With Ted Dibiase
This one's really cool because the "Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase used to have fun at WWE events where he would bring in kids from the crowd to try to win money from him. One of his famous stunts was when he would ask a kid to dribble a basketball ten times, but just before the kid reached ten, Dibiase would kick the ball away. The date was August 8, 1987. Dibiase had just won a match when he decided to bring in a fan to try to win some money. Rob Van Dam was 16 years old at the time when he was told to come in by Dibiase and Virgil. Dibiase took off his boot (thanks to the help of Virgil) and offered up some cash to the kid to kiss his foot. It turns out that the kid was future WWE Champion Rob Van Dam. http://youtu.be/EXCy4NyadQ8 Dibiase talked about it in 2013: "I don't really watch a lot of wrestling anymore. So I turn the TV on and ... I see this Rob Van Dam. Somebody comes up to me and says, 'Ted, do you remember that show you did where you had the kid come in the ring, and you took off your sweaty boot and had him kiss your feet? That kid, that's Rob Van Dam.' I'd like to meet him now. 'Hey kid, want to kiss my feet again?'" He was joking about another kiss. It's one of those cool moments that we can all look back on and laugh at now.
