9 WWE Stars Who Could Be AEW's 'Lex Luger'

8. Hiroshi Tanahashi

Brock Tnt Debut Lex Luger
NJPW

Although the 42-year-old's body is allegedly f*cked beyond belief, Hiroshi Tanahashi is nonetheless scheduled to participate in yet another gruelling G1 Climax next month, beginning with a blow-away bout opposite Kazuchika Okada in Dallas.

Presuming the veteran ace makes it through the tournament with all his limbs still attached, he might just consider it his New Japan swansong. Tanahashi's contract with the company expires this year, and although he isn't the ideal candidate for a relatively unclued US audience, his prestige amongst the wrestling community and the opportunity to work a lesser schedule for massively improved wages might just be too tempting to turn down.

The problem is that the 'Once in a Century Talent' adores New Japan, and his public adore him. Is a big fat payday really worth more than that?

Probability: Less than 10%

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
