Zinger: "To be honest, every time I study that tape, I have to take breaks in the middle because I'm just bored. It's a boring fight. It's kind of a slow, grinding, boring match. I don't think she's going to be able to deal with the pace that I'm going to set for her."

These were the humble beginnings of a long feud that continues today. And for perhaps one of the only times in her MMA career, Rousey was challenged by an opponent who posed a real threat.

Their first fight is best remembered for its conclusion, when Tate, despite having a visibly dislocated elbow, refused to tap to the armbar. Even Rousey had to concede that Tate was one tough chick after that.
