Ace Austin Wins Super X Cup, 'I Quit' Match Shock Ending At Impact Wrestling Genesis 2021
Impact Wrestling Genesis 2021 was a big night for the company's X-Division.
At last night's Impact Wrestling Genesis 2021 event, Ace Austin was able to secure victory in the Super X Cup tournament.
In a bracket involving Suicide, Daivari, Cousin Jake, Crazzy Steve, Tre Lemar, KC Navarro, and Blake Christian on the night, Austin was able to overcome the odds and take home the Super X Cup after besting Christian in the X-Division spectacular's final.
Elsewhere on the returning Impact Plus special, Jordynne Grace was able to get the better of WWE and NWA veteran Jazz, and Willie Mack met TNA World Champion Moose in an 'I Quit' match. Yet, it was the latter contest's ending which stole the majority of the headlines coming out of the night.
As Moose looked to be edging closer towards hearing Mack utter the match-ending phrase after pummelling him with his belt and setting him up for an horrific looking chair shot to the head, Impact World Champion Rich Swann sprinted down to ringside. Swann then offered Moose a chance to face him for his title if he stopped this madness, to which Moose responded by saying "thank you, I quit."
With a new Super X Cup winner crowned and Moose now finally getting what he wanted all along, things looked to have gotten off to an intriguing start for Impact Wrestling in 2021.
