Having been absent from AEW programming for six months, Adam Copeland and Christian Cage made their long-awaited returns at AEW Revolution last night.

Following FTR retaining the AEW Tag Team Titles against the Young Bucks, the lights went out in Los Angeles' Crypto.com Arena, before the word "REVENGE" appeared on the video screen. Copeland's music then hit, which was immediately followed by Cage's, as FTR and Stokely Hathaway stared at the entrance way.

From there, Christian entered the ring behind FTR and sprayed something in Cash Wheeler's eyes before hitting Dax Harwood with the Killswitch. Adam Copeland would then hit a spear on Dax, and C&C then held up the AEW Tag Team Titles. In an intriguing twist, the Young Bucks then reentered the ring, as it appears we could be heading towards a three-way feud over the AEW Tag Team Championships.

Adam Copeland and Christian Cage last appeared on the post-All Out edition of Dynamite back in September, where Copeland said he needed to take some time away following FTR hitting his wife Beth with a spike piledriver at All Out. As for Cage, he simply vanished from AEW TV without any given reason.

In reality, this absence has been due to Adam Copeland filming Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and also shooting a role in Jason Statham's The Beekeeper 2.
