AEW All Out 2023: 10 Things That Must Happen

Is this when The Elite proves to Tony Khan that AEW doesn't need CM Punk?!

Sunday's pay-per-view could be a sobering evening for AEW.

The company produced a stadium show worth celebrating last weekend in London. All In wasn't perfect by any means, but it did showcase some of Tony Khan's best on a grand stage, and nobody in attendance will ever forget it. All Out? Well, All Out is already struggling due to the suspension of hometown boy CM Punk.

He'll skip the show due to more backstage fighting, and that'll sound familiar to anyone who has paid attention to All Elite business for the past 12 months. All Out 2022 was hilariously dubbed "Brawl Out" in the media, and yet here we are - somehow, that behind-the-curtain nonsense is still plaguing Khan's organisation.

TK has to try to focus on the task at hand though. He's still got a PPV full of matches that require some attention, and it's important the boss begins to move on in the final quarter of the year. To do that, Tony will need to get match results correct, keep various stories purring, and maybe ask some on the roster to give him a breather from all the chaos.

Here's what must happen in Chicago!

Spoiler alert incoming for Rampage, so apologies if you're reading this before Friday's episode.

OK, ready. Here's a line break just to give you more time.

Dark Order members John Silver and Alex Reynolds won the Battle Royale on Rampage, and they'll challenge MJF and Adam Cole for the ROH Tag belts at All Out. Whilst that does feel like a lacklustre combo, the same cannot be said for Max and Adam. They've been gold together, and they proved that yet again at Wembley.

Fans in London were right into the duo, and it's safe to assume Chicago's wrestle-daft masses will be the same. So, why not run with MJF and Cole defending vs. Dark Order as the launching point for Sunday's show? This is a nothing challenge from Silver and Reynolds, to be fair, but the champ’s dynamic will help it.

Chicago would roar with appreciation if the snazzy Better Than You Bay Bay theme blared over the speakers early. Yep, this sounds like the perfect way to kick things off and get the audience onside ASAP. Why not?
