During last night's Revolution pay-per-view, AEW announced its own version of JCP's - not WWE's - WarGames match. It is scheduled to take place on the March 25 edition of AEW Dynamite emanating from Newark, New Jersey's massive Prudential Center.

"Two rings, one giant covered cage," ran the copy.

Cody had already teased such a match back in November using the verbiage 'The Match Beyond' - the name for the final phase of the legendary WarGames match - and the Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer subsequently reported that Cody had sought to trademark the phrase. Whether as a result of a legal threat, fears of an imminent legal threat, or just because they could not resist - AEW appear to have instead opted for the very on-brand WWE dig 'Blood & Guts', which Vince McMahon infamously uttered on a conference call in an attempt to undermine AEW Dynamite to potential investors.

Cody teased that a match between the Elite and the Inner Circle will be a 'Match Beyond', which suggests - in tandem with the purported year-long booking plan - that exact match will happen in a few weeks.

However, this programme has all but ended, following Chris Jericho and Jake Hager's respective wins over the Rhodes brothers, and the Young Bucks' defeat of Santana and Ortiz - though Matt Jackson did state on Dynamite in the very recent past that they've not "forgotten" the hostility.

It's the Inner Circle or, perhaps, the Dark Order, who will expand to the old-school five number when the so-called 'Exalted One' reveals themselves.
