AEW chief Tony Khan couldn't resist having a little fun with reports that Vince McMahon will soon come out of retirement (which only happened in July 2022) and launch a WWE return.

Ahead of All Elite's bumper Friday night, which included Rampage and Battle Of The Belts V, Khan tweeted out that, "Everyone at work is being so nice to me these past 24 hours!". Then, Tony added: "I wonder why" and said it "must be belated holiday spirit".

Yes, Khan knows exactly what he's doing here - the AEW boss is playing with the idea that pro wrestlers suddenly viewed WWE as a more viable place to work due to Triple H assuming control post-Vince retirement. Now, due to McMahon's impending comeback, that dynamic may have shifted back towards the AEW side yet again.

It's subtle, but Tony was only having a laugh and gently prodding wrestling fans on their allegiances. Naturally, most supporters know they're allowed to enjoy both WWE and AEW. Nobody has to pick a side in 2023.

This probably won't be the last time Khan comments on the whole Vince McMahon drama.
